Could it be a writer's personal experience? Is it reasonable to share personal views as a writer in the public domain?

Whenever any human attempts to share, express or opinionate through writing, a minimal element of personal touch is always there. The ratio of personal touch decides the authenticity of the information and data used in a write-up. Writing has a tapestry of options that differentiates it from the amount of personal touch given to it by the creator, writer or author.

Writers are full of emotions and feelings. Their background, lifestyle, daily chores, experiences and a host of other factors influence when they pen down a piece of content. The logical processing of a writer's work is closely woven with his/her angle to look at a particular subject. Content turns unique when the writer steers the aim and mission of the topic they are trying to attempt with their personal touch.

What is the purpose of writing? Only to vent out what we observe or feel?

What if we establish a connection with the reader? That experience elevates both the purpose and experience of writing.

If your personal touch rides the reader to a different world of the subject in front of them, it’s a win-win deal, buddy!!!

On a scale of 1–10, writing comes at number 9. Before 9, a writer or a creator dwells in the playground of research, envisioning the topic, analysing data and stats, including inputs from subject experts, and focusing on the audience vs vocabulary ratio and the timeline.

The above itself is a vast work to be accomplished. In the duration, the message of the particular type of content which is to be attempted by the writer undergoes major transformations that elevate the entire process of creation from the start to the start. This is not a type of error. I firmly believe that writing is endless. And hence it has no end.

Let us simplify the importance of a personal touch with the help of some examples.

Example 1: Write a blog in 1500 words on “A good sleep helps you lead a healthy life”.

The subject focuses on the importance of sound sleep in daily life. Since it is a blog, your vocabulary would be casual to formal. But you need to understand who you are writing this piece for. Because the public domain is vast and multi-layered. If you are targeting an audience, who are the patients or people getting affected by lack of sleep, sound convincing and understanding. Your tone must connect with the dire need that the audience needs. This is also helpful to the readers when they find no one to talk about. As a writer, you clearly understand and relate to their problems, and you are here to provide them with reasonable solutions. Here, there is no place for criticism. But if you have critical points, you can share them humbly.

In this process, you also undergo a journey to understand the importance of sleep. (Maybe you, the writer, also have the same problem as the subject.) Now when you write, you will automatically sound friendly and will connect instantly with the audience. Because, as a writer, you will weave personally the subject with the daily lives of the audience and craft a content piece that completely adheres to their needs and preferences.

One way to express an opinion is, “I know how difficult it is to manage university fees and expenses along with the pressure of exams. These result in sleep disorders. And so must be stressed.”

Now the above expression will create a close connection between the reader and the writer. The reader will feel as if the content is talking to them. Bingo!!!

Your blog will be read, will engage audiences, will be shared and hopefully, the solutions will be followed to the benefit of many. So, your personal touch has this sort of impact.

Example 2: Write an article in 2000 words on “What happens to the pumpkins after Halloween Day?” (I recently researched this topic)

The topic is to be covered as an article. Deep research, statistics, data and expert opinion have to be roped in to cover this topic. Article writing is a rich form of content. Your idea has to be presented in a formal tone, and vocabulary could be from intermediate to advanced. Wherever you plan to place your view as a writer, put it elegantly so that it blends well with what you are trying to showcase. Since you have data and information on this subject, you can form an opinion of your own. Your opinion must have a unique voice that differentiates from the others mentioned in the article. That will set you apart from the rest as a writer.

As a writer, you can present your personal touch as quotes and place them strategically in the article. Quotes will colour the article with the view of the writer.

A view can help you create your niche as a content writer or content creator, which could be easily identifiable by the readers who like you. By giving your view, you help them look at situations in a different manner. Hence, helping them solve a particular complexity or helping them get out of a specific situation.

Example 3: Write a short essay of 200 words on “My favourite place for photography".

Short essays come as fun writing to me. Our school days had so many of them we used to practice writing for fetching marks. But when we are into content writing, we develop a more immense horizon that helps us approach a topic. The above topic has to be covered in 200 words. Expand a little while writing your view or sharing an event related to the topic. The overall frame of the essay will speak only about what you felt but will not guide others towards their experiences. Thus, it might hinder them from sharing theirs in your comment box. A drop of your event with practical vocabulary will do its magic in this topic. Apart from that, you can mention a brief list of places suited for photography. You can mention in quick about trending photography types like drone photography. You can share two sentences mentioning the names of photogenic locales in your city or countries around your place.

A brief but effective mention will make your essay want and share to make others aware of it.

The above examples help you infuse your personal views as a writer while working on different topics, types of content and word limits. Word limit plays an important role. We, as writers, go to lengths while writing about our personal experiences. But word limit helps us to shape the content most aptly, keeping in mind the reader's appetite.

The power of emotions in content is beyond imagination. Your narrative can steer a whole industry by just appropriately showing your view. I agree. All writing does not fall under this fit. Because with an idea, it is out of the ‘one size fits all’ box. But we, as writers, can diligently maintain the flow of our experience between the personal appeal and the universal appeal.

It’s a wrap, guys…

As a person, what we experience always leaves us with a change. The experience must be respected and protected. To share such an experience in content must be rolled out with great responsibility and care, both for oneself and the readers.

Please leave a comment if you have something to share. I believe sharing comes with a lot of support that contributes to whatever we do in life in a balanced manner.
